# What is a Giving Circle, and how is it different from a Granting Circle?
### What is a Giving Circle?
A Giving Circle is a group of people who come together to pool their donations and collaboratively decide which nonprofits and causes to support.
### What is a Granting Circle?
A Granting Circle is a type of Giving Circle where the funding comes from a single source—typically a company, foundation, or major donor—instead of individual members. Participants still collaborate to review nonprofits, learn and decide together where the funds should go. In some cases, there may be specific requirements or guidelines that determine which nonprofits are eligible for consideration, based on the priorities of the funder.
