When does the nonprofit receive the donations?

Grapevine disburses funds to nonprofits on a monthly basis. Our internal processing for these grants begins on the first day of the month and typically runs for up to a week, with funds usually finalized and released by the second week of each month.

For a nonprofit to be included in an upcoming monthly disbursement, the following conditions must be met once funds are targeted to them (either directly by an individual donor, through a Giving Circle leader’s request, or as decided by an automated Giving Circle’s voting poll results):

  • Disbursement Threshold: The cumulative amount due to the nonprofit from all sources must reach at least $100 minimum processing threshold.
  • Payment Method Confirmation: The nonprofit must confirm their preferred billing/payment method with us on or before the last calendar day of the month prior to the disbursement. This confirmation includes our verification that the provided details (such as mailing addresses for checks or bank accounts for ACH) match official IRS records or are certified as directly owned by the nonprofit.
  • Eligibility at Time of Disbursement: The nonprofit must be eligible to receive funds at the time of disbursement. We conduct a final vetting to ensure their IRS standing (e.g., Pub78 database inclusion and 501(c)(3) status) remains active and valid, as their status can change.
